Semester one is over and I am free to do whatever I want for four weeks. No more saying- “I can’t , I have to study.” No more missing out on going out. That’s not to say that during the semester I never had any fun. It’s just that I had to weigh up whether I needed to study more or not.
I just do simple things during the school holidays. I catch
up with friends, go to restaurants, watch movies, go shopping, read books, blog
and watch tv. The first thing I did when I finished my studies was make limonada which is like
lemonade only it’s made with limes. I have a big lime tree in the backyard
which has a lot of fruit. I find it therapeutic to squeeze the limes but it’s a
long process so I only make limonada when I have the time. I like to go outside
and pick all the fruit….. except the ones on the lowest branches.. I make my
brother get those ones. There’s an undergrowth of bushes where the tree is and
I have an irrational fear that something is going to pop out and scare me.

I just borrowed some books from the library today. I got The
Strange Case of Dr Jerkll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson, Holes by Louis
Sachar , Nineteen Eighty Four by George Orwell and The Last Battle by C.S
Lewis. The first four books are on my
booklist and I will be pleased to finish them. I have a few book reviews to
write about some books I finished during the term too.
I’ve also been shopping lately. The mid year sales are on
and most stores have 50-30% discounts! All the clothing stores are selling
their winter stock so I’ve bought three jackets and two jumpers. I’m also
thinking about being super early with my Christmas shopping because of the
great bargains.
So that’s my holidays so far. What do you like to do on your
school holiday?
Yippee! Sounds like some fun is coming your way, Carlyn. Hope you enjoy every minute. :)
